Ambassador Liu Called on the First Vice Foreign Minister of the DPRK

On October 11th, the new Chinese Ambassador to DPRK Liu Xiaoming paid a call on First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Sok Ju in the MFA building. Kang extended his welcome to Ambassador Liu for assuming the post of the Chinese ambassador to the DPRK. Both sides had talks in the friendly atmosphere.

Kang said that the DPRK-Chinese friendship was forged and nurtured by the old generation of leaders of the two countries. The DPRK party and government were very mindful of the friendship, and to develop it further was the firm and constant policy of the DPRK side. To enhance and develop the bilateral relations was not only in the interest of the two peoples, but also the peace, security and stability on the DPRK Peninsula, in Northeast Asia and the world at large. He hoped that the relations of friendship and cooperation would further develop with the joint effort of the two sides.

Ambassador Liu said China and DPRK were friendly neighbors and the Sino-DPRK friendship was personally forged and nurtured by the old generation of revolutionaries of the two countries. And to continuously consolidate and develop such bilateral relations of friendly cooperation represented the confirmed policy of the Chinese party and government. The Chinese side would work together with the DPRK side and carry out the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries in every aspect in the spirit of "inheriting the tradition, facing the future, nurturing good-neighbor friendship and enhancing cooperation" with a view to continuously deepening the Sino-DPRK friendly cooperation.

The two also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
